The Magic of the Madonna
The Magic of the Madonna: Reclaiming the Divine Matriarch is a deeply reflective and embodied
workshop exploring the Madonna as a living symbol of care, protection, and sacred feminine
power. Rooted in Italian folk magic and devotional traditions, this experience invites participants
to connect with Mary as guide, protector, and Queen of Angels—while reclaiming the values of
the Divine Matriarch: tending to the body, caring for community, and honoring the land.
Through storytelling, historical context, meditation, creative practice, and ritual, participants will
explore practices such as novenas, candle work, and the Hail Mary prayer, alongside the
symbolism of the Black Madonna as a figure of earth, mystery, and protection. This workshop
offers a grounded, inclusive approach that honors both tradition and personal spiritual
experience.
Participants will create a personal devotional object or altar and leave with practices to integrate
the Madonna’s presence into daily life through ritual, reflection, and embodied care.
Led by Regina Filomeno, Reiki Master Teacher, Italian folk magic practitioner, and Madonna
devotee. Regina is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist who creates trauma-informed,
somatic, and experiential workshops that bridge psychology, body, and spirituality. Her work
centers care, embodiment, and social justice, offering grounded pathways into healing,
devotion, and personal transformation.
